0.4x Black by Brian Gavin Diamonds!

Brian Gavin has restocked their inventory recently and those that are looking for engagement ring should really visit Black by Brian Gavin and let its sparkles awe you.

I noticed that most people in Malaysia tend to aim for higher colour and clarity when comes to diamond purchasing. This is fair enough, but gentle reminder - Even if you buy a diamond with good colour and clarity, it does not mean it can perform well. You will always have to look at the diamond's cut. Try not to sacrifice on the diamond's cut/proportions just to get a better colour and clarity in order to meet your budget. In fact, it will be wise to do the opposite because a well cut diamond can anytime outdo a higher colour and clarity diamond which has a mediocre cut.

For those that are on the hunt for 40-pointers, you are in luck because there is hope to get terrific performance without sacrificing colour and clarity. Brian Gavin Diamonds recently has restocked quite a number of 40-pointers and there are 3 of them that falls under colourless range (D-F) with VS1 clarity. VS1 clarity is really a sweet spot because it is virtually eye-clean even at close-up without magnification aid.

Updated on 22/06/2017: Swap the link for top choice and alternative choice as I noticed that it is pasted in the wrong position.
For those that want fiery diamond, my top choice will be this:

Another alternative will be this.

Make no mistake, this is one of the best of the best diamonds in the world. The reason I picked the 0.414ct instead of this one is because I like the fiery sparkle video of the 0.414ct. It wins the 0.423ct slightly (very) in terms of sparkle.

The last alternative will be this:

This seems to be the most fiery diamond. Although the colour is 1 grade lower, it is still within the colourless range and therefore, it actually brings the best value! Besides, it is the biggest diamond among the 3. In fact, if you don't mind the slightly lower colour (which you should not IMO), then this is really the top choice!

Of course, this is just personal preference. One thing I am sure is that no doubt the two E VS1 diamonds will be able to satisfy the taste of Malaysians, whereby colour and clarity is preferred. Yes, the price is slightly on the high side compare to what you can get elsewhere, however, personally, I think the performance is very well worth it. Of course, my usual advice is stick to your budget first. However, if someone in the market is trying to sell you similar specs diamond (except cut) at roughly the same price, then I think your safer bet will be Black by Brian Gavin.

The downside of purchasing from Brian Gavin Diamonds is that they do not offer free delivery to Malaysia. So it is important to factor in the cost. If you wish to purchase from Brian Gavin, leave a message here or drop me an email at blogger.yang85 at gmail dot com.
