As some of you may know, DeGem and Diamond & Platinum are actually sister companies. Hence, their online based GIA graded diamonds selection are actually having the same prices. However, when it comes to engagement ring designs, some of the designs may not share across these 2 different companies. Therefore, if you like a particular design from either of these two companies, just buy from that company that carries the design as you can get the same GIA diamond from either one of them.
The stone prices listed on their website are actually quite competitive, when you compared to companies like ZCOVA. Do note that I always like to use ZCOVA as a benchmark because I find that their diamond selection, ring quality, and services provided are actually very decent.
One thing DeGem / Diamond & Platinum do better than their competitors is their prices for ring settings. Starting at RM 1000 / 900 (DeGem / Diamond & Platinum), I think it is very very good, considering their workmanship is not bad at all. Personally, it is hard for me to beat their prices even if I wanted to, especially when it comes to popular carat weight, such as 0.3ct or 0.4ct.
The downside of using their website is that you will have to filter through a lot of diamonds to find the right one, and I am not sure how good is their online consultants because I have never try them before. Then again, for their prices, I will encourage those that are looking for natural diamonds to give them a shot.
Some tip I can give is that you can try to ask the consultants for more details, such as Hearts and Arrows image or even ask them to look for diamond with good Hearts and Arrows. You can also ask them to filter out diamonds that meet specific crown angle or pavilion angle. I believe it is possible for them to do so. Remember, there is no harm in asking nicely.
