A Very Decent 0.313ct ACA Collection Series Diamond!

This is another wonderful piece by WhiteFlash. The only complain I have is that this diamond’s ASET image shows some slight weaker light return on the table of the diamond, which is indicated by the “green” on the table at the 4 o’clock position of that image. However, this is not detected in the ASET of the AGS cert. So, I would say that “green” is rather minor and negligible. For your info, usually I will take the ASET in the cert as standard as I think that it can detect more precisely such as the contrast level of the diamond, which in this case, shows great contrast. Of course, this is just personal opinion and preference. Anyway, I think that the green is caused by the slight dark spots at the 4 o’clock region. Those are light obstructions but at a minor scale. That can definitely improve the contrast level of this diamond.

The Hearts & Arrows is perfect enough that I have nothing to complain about. It is simply amazing. The calculated ideal weight is 4.35 x 4.38 x 2.7 x 0.0061 = 0.314ct while the actual carat weight is 0.313ct. So this means the cutter did not cheat and this diamond is cut to maximize its beauty. Even if there are some small differences, as long as the difference is not significant – around the range of 0.001ct to 0.009ct, I still find it acceptable and would safely assume that the diamond is cut to maximize its beauty.

Now, with great performance coupled with a colourless range colour of F and a clarity level of VVS1, this is fit to be called a collection good. With a small table at 55.1% and a tall crown height at 15.7%, coupled with a steep angle (but still within ideal range) of 34.9 degree crown angle, I am sure the fire will be very excellent! In fact, the pairing of 34.9 crown angle with 40.6 pavilion angle is even more ideal because as mentioned before, 34.9 degree crown angle is considered a steep angle while 40.6 pavilion angle is considered a shallow angle. The relationship between crown angle and pavilion angle is ideally inverse of each other and for this diamond, this is the case. Regarding this, you can refer to Vincent post’s here: https://www.prosumerdiamonds.com/crown-angle/.

The price of this diamond is USD 889. Using MoneyMatch, the exchange rate is 3.9651, so this makes the total to become RM 3524.98. Add 6% GST and the total becomes RM 3736.48. Add some misc. charges, the total should still be less than RM 3760.00. Add on a ready design ring setting from MemoryJewellery, which costs between RM 750 to RM 1000 or a custom design from MemoryJewellery, which costs between RM 1000 to RM 1500, the final price will range from RM 4510 to RM 5260.
