This is an incredible piece fromWhiteFlash. Hearts & Arrows are incredibly precise. If you refer to the
IdealScope, the arrow head at the 3 o’clock position has some negligible
misalignment but that is not something to be concerned of because it is like splitting
hair and you may found such situation occasionally as well. Again, this is
really too minor to be concerned of. As for the Hearts, it is very incredible
and I have nothing to complain about. It is simply excellent.
Calculated ideal weight is 4.48 x 4.50 x 2.78
x 0.0061 = 0.342ct. The actual weight of this diamond is 0.343ct. So there is a
0.001ct difference which is totally acceptable.
The IdealScope shows a lot red, indicating
that there is a lot of light return. The ASET is simply top-notch without any
weak light return at the bottom of the diamond table or at the edge of the
diamond.
Now, the crown angle is at 35.1 degree
crown angle. Now this is a 0.1 degree beyond the ideal proportions from
WhiteFlash. This is really rare. I have only seen one time so far, but can’t
remember it is from WhiteFlash or Brian Gavin Diamonds. Anyway, Brian GavinDiamonds does not seem to have any ideal proportions listed on their website,
but I would assume it is more or less the same as WhiteFlash’s because Brian Gavin
co-founded WhiteFlash before he moved on to setup his current company. But of
course, this is just my assumption, so take it with a pinch of salt. I love the
high crown height and small table as well as they can provide extra room for
the light to break into beautiful fire.

Now, will 35.1 crown angle becomes a
problem? Personally, I won’t think so because WhiteFlash’s procedure to filter
out diamonds is pretty strict. And apparently this diamond has passed to the eyes
of a few appraisals. Also, if you have read my previous blog posts, I welcome
such steep angle because it is steep enough to produce excellent fire. In fact,
this diamond is considered a 35 degree crown angle diamond if it was graded by
GIA . This is because GIA will round up the crown angle to the nearest 0.5
degree - so 35.1 degree becomes 35 degree.
The price of this piece is USD 991. Using
MoneyMatch, the exchange rate is 3.9651, so this makes the total to become RM 3929.42.
Add 6% GST and the total becomes RM 4165.19. Add some misc. charges, the total should
still be less than RM 4200.00. Add on a ready design ring setting from MemoryJewellery, which costs between RM 750 to RM 1000 or a custom design from MemoryJewellery, which costs between RM 1000 to RM 1500, the final price will range
from RM 4950 to RM 5700.
